Living a life of passion and purpose

Sometimes we get so busy with life we lose the passion and forget our purpose.

Our purpose in life is Jesus. He is everything.

Matthew 6:33 (KJV)  “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

According to Britannica Dictionary the definition of Passion is a strong feeling of enthusiasm or excitement for something or about doing something that you enjoy or love doing very much. It is also a strong feeling of love for something.

“With the breakdown of discipline in the home and with every source of amusement and instruction pouring poison into daily life, it is not to be wondered that the minds of people are ready to receive anything but the truth and that they are ready to believe lies and ultimately the lie.” – Billy Graham –

Why Would God ?

Good morning on this bright sunshiny day. I am just sitting here in my spot, watching the birds fly past my window and landing in the trees. I am just enjoying the sounds of the morning. So much peace when we are still and able to just listen. There is a time to be still and a time to go, but you shouldn’t go until after you have been still.

In Matthew 28:18-20, you find what is called The Great Commission.

18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Just recently, I heard a preacher, a really nice man, I love and respect him so much. He preached a message on the difference between disciples and believers. That message just stuck with me. Most people, all over this planet, believe in Jesus. Even the devil and his demons are believers, but the difference from disciples and believers is that disciples go. They go, and everywhere they go, they take the message with them. One thing with me is that I want to be a disciple of Christ. I want to go and tell people about the love of Jesus, and then it occurred to me. I do go into all the world and tell people about the love of Jesus, I go places that most people can’t go. I go into their homes where most people don’t get to go. I go through the phones, the computers, the tablets. I go to nations.

So right here and now. Let me tell y’all about the love that God has for people. So hang on, I have a very important message to share.

But why? If we are good person, then why would God send a person to hell ? How could a God that is love and has so much love send a person to hell, which is such an awful place? First hell was not created for a person, it was created for the devil and the angels that followed after the devil which is called Satan.

But you say that you are a good person right? have you ever told a lie? have you ever stole anything? have you ever gossiped about anybody? have you ever lusted after somebody? what about used God’s name in vain? I know that most people haven’t murdered anybody, but did you know that when you are angry at someone and you call them ugly words, you are guilty of judgement just as if you had murdered somebody. Well, are you really a good person?

Sin is not just about doing things that we know is wrong. Sin is also not doing the things that we know we should be doing according to James 4:17 (ESV) “So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.”

Ya know all those thoughts that you think are private, how would you feel if they were played on a big movie screen for all your family and friends and co-workers to see? Think about how you would feel about that? I know me, I get embarrassed when people come to my house and see my personal items laying around that should be put away. Ya know some things are personal and not meant for the world to see, dirty laundry is one of them, and the contents of a ladies purse is another. But according to psalm 44:21 (ESV) “…For he knows the secrets of the heart.”

Yep, I know, I hear it, “but there are worse people in this world than I am.” You are right, there is. But there is a day, and we all know it is coming, it is call “Judgement Day “or the “Day of Reckoning.” According to Romans 14:10-12 (ESV) ”… For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God; 11 for it is written, “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me,  and every tongue shall confess to God.12 So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.”

You may ask, “Why don’t God just forgive me automatically?”

What if you went into a court room, which many of us have, especially if you live here in the United States, and you went in front of the judge and you stated, ” I know that I keep breaking the law, but why can’t you just let me go, why can’t you just let it slide and we will forget about it?”

I know that there are many judges in this world that would let you just slide by for a price that lines their pockets, but a Good Judge or a Judge that stands for what is right will demand that you pay for your crimes. Did you know that God is a righteous judge? That means He stands for the things that are right, and He hates sin. God loves people, but He hates sin. Jesus warned us in Matthew 13:42, “That God in His wrath, will cast ALL who sin against Him into eternal fire where, ‘there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth.” But there is a way, and that way is only through Jesus. I have heard, ” There are many roads to God.” Here is what I do know, each of us has a different path in life to walk, but there is only one way to get into Heaven. One door, one way to God the Father, and that is through His Son Jesus Christ.

John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have eternal life.”

Jesus took all of our sins upon Himself so that we can be free. He didn’t even know sin, but He took all that upon Himself so that we didn’t have to pay the price for our sins (crimes) against God. Then He rose up out of that grave on the third day to conquer death once and for all. So when we pass from this life and on into eternity we will have the chance to go to Heaven to be with the Father instead of hell, and pay for our sins that has already been paid for, if we would have just accepted the free gift that is being offered to us. This gift is not something we earn. If you work for something that is called wages, “For the wages of sin is death; but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6: 23 (ASV)

2 Corinthians 5: 17 (ASV) “Wherefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old things are passed away; behold, they are become new.”

See you don’t have to continue on the path you are going. God has opened up for you a new path, and a gift that is yours, you just have to ask. Say this prayer …

Lord, forgive me for I have sinned. Wash me clean by the Blood of Jesus, and help me to turn from my old life of sin. Lead me in your ways of life because you have said in your Word that I am a new creature and that old things are passed away and are made new. Give me a new life in You. You are loving and just God and I ask for your compassion and mercy. In Jesus Name. Amen
