Good Morning Everybody !!!
It is such a wonderful day. I just want to share some wonderful news. It is so good it feels like Christmas in September.
One of my favorite things is to sit on the couch (sofa) and read in the mornings and have coffee. I sit in the silence (try to) and just think about the things of God and everything He has brought me through. A couple of days ago I was reading in the Book of James. James chapter 1 to be exact and this jumped off the page at me.
James 1:17-18 (NLT) 17 Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow. 18 He chose to give birth to us by giving us his true word. And we, out of all creation, became his prized possession.
God is our Father, not just my Father, but our Father and that to me is such an awesome thing. To truly be loved by a Father. I love my dad, but my earthly dad is in no comparison able to do what my Heavenly Father can do. And the fact that He chose me, out of all creation to be His prized possession. What is something that you value more than anything? you would want to keep that and love it, polish it, protect it. We are way more valuable that all those things.
Then this morning, I am back in my favorite spot on the couch, reading and thinking. I turn my Bible over to 1 Peter chapter 1.
I saw the most amazing thing.
1 Peter 1:3-12 3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, 4 and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay. 5 And through your faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see.
6 So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. 7 These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.
8 You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy. 9 The reward for trusting him will be the salvation of your souls.
10 This salvation was something even the prophets wanted to know more about when they prophesied about this gracious salvation prepared for you. 11 They wondered what time or situation the Spirit of Christ within them was talking about when he told them in advance about Christ’s suffering and his great glory afterward.
12 They were told that their messages were not for themselves, but for you. And now this Good News has been announced to you by those who preached in the power of the Holy Spirit sent from heaven. It is all so wonderful that even the angels are eagerly watching these things happen.
As I read this I saw the most amazing gift. It look so pretty all wrapped up in a shiny maroon red gift paper. It was surrounded by Christmas lights just waiting to be opened. The atmosphere was like on a perfect Christmas morning as a kid and being all excited about the gifts.
God, our Father, is the perfect Father and He gave us the most perfect gift ever. Even angels are waiting with eager anticipation, just waiting and watching to see. I am reminded of when we are opening gifts, and we have others standing around watching us or we are standing around watching the gifts be opened. The angels are doing that very same thing. Watching with eager anticipation.
It is up to us to receive and open the gift He gave us. Open it, it is yours.
You may ask how do I receive and open that gift. Just ask Jesus to give you that free gift and believe it. That is how. Then how do you believe it, you say it and mean it.
With your mouth say the words, I believe that Jesus saved me. I receive Him into my heart and I believe it.
It is not difficult. So many religious people make it seem so difficult but it really isn’t.
Love ya’ll and carry on people
