How many of us go to bed, and we toss and turn, and we claim we are resting?
Or we claim we are getting rest by sitting on the couch and watching a movie or videos?
Yet, when we wake up from a night of “resting” or “resting” in front of the television or starring at the phone, we are just as exhausted or maybe even more so than when we started.
Rest, the Supernatural Rest, that our bodies and souls crave only comes through God the Father. You can not find it on your own no matter how much you try to.
It is when we calm our minds by mediating on the Word of God and praying that we will be come more focused. As we become focused on who God is and we realize that ALL of our needs are met, then we will truly be able to rest.
I know people, and I am just as guilty of always focusing on “I need, I need, I need” when, in reality, all of our needs are provided for.
Psalms 23:1-6 (KJV) A Psalm of David. “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. 3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. 4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. 5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. 6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.“
We are the children of the Most High God. And as children, we are to be dependent upon our Father. When we have children, they are dependent upon us. It is the same with our Father. We are to be totally dependent upon Him. He created us to be totally dependent upon Him. And NO, we are not to be lazy. There is a big difference between being dependent and being lazy.
That is a different subject for another time.
